So, a friend of mine shares "quotes of the day" (thanks for thelaughs kristin) and I thought I would start recording some from the Sullivan household as well. Kid's say the funniest things and it seems by the end of the day I've forgotten those "memorable comments" (to put it nicely).
Here's my 1st kid comment, more like story. The kid: Mya The setting: We were all gathered in the living room watching a little Dora (and I wonder why Mya talks so loud??) . I wasn't really watching Dora, just hearing Dora's loud monotone voice yelling Spanglish. =) I was thinking my own thoughts when Mya says, "Mom, do you think Dora turns her head like me?" I looked at her with a puzzled expression, which caused her to ask her question again and demonstrate what she meant by simply turning her head to look over her shoulder. Still having no idea why she was asking me this, I decided not to pursue this conversation further (although I kinda wish I had now) and simply replied, "yes" . I mean, I guess Dora turns her head - right? Mya said nothing, verbally that is. She didn't have to. She gave me the largest smile that seemed to say, "wow! Cool! Dora turns her head like me." At that point, I just broke out laughing. So we have established the fact that Dora turns her head like Mya.
By the way, I do endorse Dora. My girls have taught me a spanish word or two. Thanks Dora. Also, Thanks Dora for the hearing loss. =)
Mya's other kid comment for the day: "Mom, can we get the email (referring to the mail)." Just goes to show how different her 3 year old world is from what mine was.

July update
July... wow! This month has gone by faster than lightning on a stormy summer night. =) Of course, our little Slaeter has kept us busy, but the life's hectic pace went up a notch when we picked up our boxer (about a week after Sla was born)and another when a couple job interviews were scheduled a couple days later. But more on that later...
Both Slaeter and Tito are growing like weeds. Tito discovered his strength, or rather his ability to jump out of the pen Nate built. Nate has solved the problem and has kept his promise by continually taking care of our cute little puppy's needs. Thanks hon!
Slaeter has discovered how to smile. It is so adorable and fills my heart with so much love I think it'll burst. Seriously though, don't kids have a way of bringing out emotions you never new existed? This little man has won over my heart! I love having a son!
Mya now can say "no tocas nada" (translation "don't touch anything" in Espanol. It makes me laugh to think this is the first sentence we've taught her. Can you tell what we are working on... she's a hands on girl. I'm already thinking of fun schooling ideas for preschool.
Audrey has also begun to speak a little spanish as well. Sandy made the comment the other day that spanish seems to come more naturally to her than english. While she struggles to say her english words clearly, her spanish seems about as easy for her as dancing (she definitely has the latin hip movement going on when she dances).
Not too much update on me... just holdin' down the fort. =) Now that I have begun to leave my domain, my place of rest (ha!) and have tried going out with all 3 little ones, I definitely notice the stares and comments. It really makes me laugh. The comments are never rude. Just the typical, "3 ?! Are they all yours?? You look too young! Did you start having them at 12? Good luck?! Oh honey, you have your hands full!" I finally asked one lady who kept saying I was "too young" how old she thought I was and her reply "17? 18." I think it was because I had on very little make-up, who knows?? I'm sure I will look my age sooner than later due to lack of sleep and endless housework. =) I'm relying on my beauty products. ;)
Nate has had an exciting job opportunity arise, which we are both very excited about. I became more excited when I was told there is a potterybarn outlet in the D.C. area - yes! =) Yeah that's right, D.C. it is looking like we will most likely be in D.C. in 3-6months. Pretty crazy! We are praying for God's will and trusting Him to close or open doors. Nate was flown up to D.C. this past week for a couple interviews and passed. I feel totally at peace and know God is in control. I am so proud of Nate and all the work he does to provide for our family. He is my best friend and I would follow him to the ends of the earth (as long as there is a pottery barn - just kidding!) We both thank the Lord for this wonderful job opportunity, because He is the giver of all good things.
Well, this is lot of writing and probably not very good writing due to distractions. Just wanted to give a little update of some of the little and big moments that have occurred thus far during the month of July. More to come...

Love
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Makeevery effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:2,3
Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians5:1,2

Meet Tito
Say Hola to our cute Tito, the newest member to our rapidly growing family. I promise you, Nate and I do own a T.V. =) However, we love our children and we love dogs. So, when some wonderful and very generous friends of ours practically gave us a boxer, we couldn't pass it up. Nate grew up with Boxers and I, Labs. We both knew we would want a dog, a big dog, one day... that day just came a little sooner than we had planned and almost to the day our baby boy arrived. I admit, I would have been completely overwhelmed had my dear, sweet, mom-in-law not been here to help me with both baby and boxer. She knew just what to do with our little dog. Thanks a bunch Patty!!!
Isn't he cute? I would have had to had a heart of stone to refuse my man this puppy.
Playing with Tito's sibling. Mya is a little more cautious of our Tito and I think he can sense that. He'll run after her, thinking it's a game. Sometimes it is and sometimes Mya doesn't think it's so fun. Audrey, on the otherhand, loves our precious tito to death. Literally, if we didn't stop her from smothering him. He is actually a little cautious of her. She has sen't him the signal and let him know who's dominant-for now at least.
Giving Tito a kissy kiss. Note how Audrey gives kisses and please note that I'm not an advocate of children giving dogs kisses. This was just one of those candid camera moments. =)
So, as we hit the 3 week point with our baby Slaeter, we have finally begun to have a schedule, get into our new groove as a family. Slaeter is now sleeping 6 hrs. at night - yes! We have figured out how to care for our dog and baby -whew! It has been fun to watch Audrey truly fall in love with her new puppy and mommy him. She loves her new bro, but I dare say I think she is a little more in love with Tito at the moment. Mya prefers her "baby broder". She loves to hold, snuggle, comfort, mommy him, and help me by getting the diapers and wipes. She definitely prefers the baby to the puppy hands down.
Life is good. Life can be a little crazy, but we haven't gone crazy yet. This is because we have had lots of help and love. Thank you mom, dad, sisters (you are truly my best friends), Patty, Amy (I couldn't ask for better ), and all my dear friends that have blessed me like family! I wouldn't be sane right now if it weren't for you all!!!!
