IKE-ramba!

IKE-ramba! Is pretty much the word that came immediately to mind when it was forecasted that we would be feeling the effects of hurricane Ike. I sprung into action and rescheduled Mya's birthday party, pushing it up to thursday. Not something I was wanting to do with all we have on our overflowing plate of things to do for our very big move. Thanks to my WONDERFUL family and better-than-awesome friends, we were able to give Mya the princess party of her dreams. Thank you dear friends for making this possible!!!!

We have almost finished saying our goodbyes... the "packers" come tomorrow and we head out wed. or thurs. (depending on how the "loaders" do, timewise that is). Crazy! I can't believe it has come, I'm actually leaving S.A.... MOVING TO VIRGINIA! All I can say is "aye que ramba" (I think that is how you spell it??) All this change has evolved very quickly, but like those when in the eye of the storm, there is calm and I can honestly say, I feel peaceful. Don't get me wrong, there are stressful moments. However, as I sit here tonight (physically tired and a little emotionally drained), I feel His peace and I am confident we following His leading.

Praising God for all He has done for our family and for His presence in my life when it gets chaotic and it feels like the "storms of life" come our way.

I wish we could have seen you before you left. But the nice thing is we still have the wonderful world of blogger to keep us connected. God bless you all in this transitional time. And I'm sure you will make new friends quickly. :)

We will miss you guys more than you know! My kids talk about Mya so much and when it finally hit Caitlyn that you guys were moving, she was in tears. I wish I could have spent more time with you over the summer! I am praying that all is going well for you on your journey there. And, I will also pray the Lord will give you the grace to get settled quickly and find some great friends.
